I've never been afraid to tackle wallpaper..

UNTIL...

This house...

Now I am VERY AFRAID.

There was wallpaper on every wall and MOST ceilings...

Layers and layers of wallpaper...

on top of plaster walls.

The wallpaper KICKED my bottom!!!

I tried chemicals, heat machines, scraping tools, fabric softeners, talking nice, swearing

I tried it all!

I now HATE wallpaper.

Son #2 says he will NEVER put wallpaper up in any of his houses!

Wallpaper is very very bad!!!

One room was so hard to get the wallpaper off I threw in the towel and we put in floor to ceiling beadboard.

Now the wallpaper is a distant faded memory...

until I find my next fixer with wallpaper!!!

After: Bedroom that we couldn't remove all the wallpaper from the plaster so in sheer exasperation we put up beadboard.  Well worth the additional cost to save my sanity.

After: This is the bedroom that had the lovely orange wallpaper on all walls and ceiling!
